I am sure we all ask this question ourselves now and then, what role does luck or destiny play in our life? Is it all hard work or is it all destiny, what is it? First and foremost, let’s talk about how luck and destiny differ. Luck and destiny are two concepts often used to describe the course of events in a person’s life. While they share some similarities, there are distinct differences between the two:

• Luck is often attributed to chance or random occurrences that bring favourable or unfavourable outcomes. It is considered an unpredictable force that influences events in an individual’s life.

• Destiny, on the other hand, refers to the predetermined course of events or the belief that certain events are meant to happen as part of a person’s fate. It suggests a predetermined path or purpose that an individual is destined to fulfil.

Control

• Luck is typically seen as external and beyond an individual’s control. It is associated with random chance, where outcomes are influenced by factors outside of one’s influence or actions.

• Destiny, in contrast, implies a predetermined path that an individual is destined to follow. It suggests that events and outcomes are predetermined and cannot be altered or changed by personal choices or actions. And it is more dependent upon your past life karmas.

Belief

• Luck is often perceived as a more secular or non-religious concept. It is associated with superstitions, chance encounters, or being in the right place at the right time.

• Destiny is often tied to spiritual or religious beliefs. It suggests that a higher power or cosmic force is guiding and shaping an individual’s life, and events occur according to a predetermined plan. So if you make an effort to change something in your life, chances are high that it will help to change your destiny.

• Luck is seen as a transient and fleeting force that can vary from one situation to another. It is often perceived as having a temporary impact on outcomes.

• Destiny implies a long-term and unchanging path that unfolds over a person’s lifetime. It suggests a consistent and overarching influence on an individual’s life events.
